The excel V+ laser is an advanced vascular and pigment-targeting system that treats redness, visible blood vessels, and brown spots. It uses two clinically proven wavelengths — 532 nanometers (nm) and 1064 nm — which allow your provider to address both superficial and deeper concerns.
The system delivers high-precision pulses of energy that are absorbed by hemoglobin or melanin in the skin, heating and clearing the targeted vessels or pigment while sparing surrounding tissue.
Its redesigned handpieces and adjustable spot sizes give your provider more control, helping them treat small facial veins, larger leg veins, and widespread redness with accuracy and comfort.
The excel V+ is versatile and can improve a wide range of vascular and pigment concerns, including:
Your provider will determine which wavelength and spot size best fit your concerns and skin type.
Your CSC Steil Dermatology provider cleanses the treatment area and may apply a cooling gel to increase comfort. Next, they guide the laser handpiece across your skin while delivering controlled pulses of energy to the targeted vessels or pigment.
The device includes contact cooling, which protects your skin’s surface and helps reduce the snapping or warming sensation you may feel with each pulse.
Most sessions take 15–30 minutes, depending on the areas treated. Topical numbing is not always necessary, though it may be offered for sensitive areas or larger vascular treatments.
It’s normal for your skin to look pink or slightly swollen for a few hours. Treated vessels may darken before fading, and brown spots often appear temporarily darker as the pigment rises to the surface. Small facial veins can respond quickly, while deeper or larger vessels may take several weeks to clear.
Some people experience mild bruising, especially with leg veins or larger vascular lesions. You should avoid strenuous exercise, heat exposure, and direct sun for a short period after treatment.
Most vascular and pigment concerns improve with 1–3 sessions, spaced about 4–6 weeks apart. Your treatment plan will depend on the depth and number of vessels or spots being treated.
